Remember back in February when the Republican government worked like a well-oiled machine to keep guns in the hands of the severely mentally ill? They can't get themselves together to actually govern, but they were as efficient as hell when it came to overturning President Obama's rule intended to prevent the mentally ill from having guns. On February 2nd, just days into the new Congress, the House voted to roll back the regulation. According to NPR's Susan Davis, the measure being blocked from implementation would have required the Social Security Administration to send records of some beneficiaries with severe mental disabilities to the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System.
