A state judge has rejected a state plan to convert part of an historic Adirondack rail line into a recreational trail, supporting a challenge by a tourist rail company that has been using the state-owned tracks.Acting state Supreme Court Justice Robert Main Jr. ruled Tuesday against the state, which in early 2016 approved an $8 million plan to remove tracks on 34 miles of tracks from Tupper Lake to Lake Placid. That plan sparked a lawsuit from the Adirondack Scenic Road, which for years has been leasing 119 miles of state tracks to run its tourist trains between Utica and Lake Placid.
