On Jan. 12, 2016, a correction officer was making her rounds in maximum-security Green Haven Correctional Facility when convicted killer Tayden Townsley handed her a greeting card containing a "personal message telling her that she was special and wishing her a happy belated birthday," according to prison records and an Albany-based appellate court decision released Thursday.
