LEHMAN TWP. — If you only went to the Luzerne County Fair to see the animals and ride the rides, there’s a chance you missed some of the pint-sized princesses taking part in a pageant Saturday afternoon. The Princess Pageant is an annual tradition that mimics, in a smaller way, the crowning of the Luzerne County Fair Queen, crowned before the fair starts each year. The pageant is for girls in the age range of kindergarten to first grade, but organizers make it clear this isn’t a beauty contest. “It’s more about personality and how well they’re able to communicate,” said Charlotte Williams, event chair.
