Storm threat sends 'super' sandbags to broken levee

With tropical storm conditions threatening Southeast Texas this weekend, crews will work from morning to dark the rest of the week to bolster a damaged flood wall protecting Port Arthur from potential storm surge. Crews on Monday began filling 1,500-pound sandbags measuring four feet by four feet by four feet to place around the 250-foot damaged section of levee wall, according to Jefferson County Emergency Management Coordinator Greg Fountain.
