CHEBOYGAN, Mich. — A couple from Lima was injured Tuesday when a motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck in a rural area of the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. Michigan State Police said the crash happened at 4:27 p.m. Tuesday. The investigation by law enforcement determined that a Harley-Davidson motorcycle operated by James Tucker, 62, of Lima, was traveling eastbound on Levering Road in Cheboygan Township when it was struck by a pickup truck driven by Brenton Dixon, 19, of Cheboyan. The pickup reportedly stopped at the stop sign at the intersection, then pulled out into the path of the motorcycle. Tucker attempted to avoid the pickup and ended up striking the front bumper of the pickup, causing the motorcycle to go down and ejecting both Tucker and his wife, Sherri Tucker, who was a passenger on the motorcycle. James and Sherri Tucker were transported to McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital, where they were treated for their injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in this crash, and both riders of the motorcycle were wearing a helmet, police said. .neFileBlock { margin-bottom: 20px; } .neFileBlock p { margin: 0px 0px 0px 0px; } .neFileBlock .neFile { border-bottom: 1px dotted #aaa; padding-bottom: 5px; padding-top: 10px; } .neFileBlock .neCaption { font-size: 85%; } http://limaohio.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/web1_PoliceLights-13.jpg The post appeared first on The Lima News.
