A large employer in eastern Alabama came to an agreement with a union on a new labor contract and avoided a strike, reports AL.com. After a month and a half of talks, Goodyear and the United Steelworkers have agreed tentatively to a new five-year master labor contract for almost 7,000 steelworkers at five plants, one of which includes the Goodyear plant in Gadsden.
