SCHENECTADY - Mayor Gary McCarthy is throwing his political muscle behind a political newcomer eyeing a City Council seat.The mayor acknowledged earlier this week that for the past month or so that he has been going door to door in the city with Dammoni Farley getting petitions signed in hopes of getting the Woodlawn resident on the ballot.A review of Farley's petitions at the county Board of Elections shows that McCarthy even signed off as a witness on one of them as state election law requires."I've been supportive of Mr.
