STAMFORD — A city man is facing charges for trespassing and assaulting his sister-in-law after he was caught in his niece’s bedroom on Thursday, according to police. Police said they were called to a Scofield Avenue home at 8:40 a.m. by a woman who claimed she had been choked by a bald black man who she found in her 15-year-old daughter’s bedroom, a police report of the incident said. When the mother heard officers calling the suspect’s name over the radio and realizing that he was her sister’s husband, 36, she became visibly upset, the police report said. Police said they believe the uncle made entry into the home through a window in his niece’s bedroom that cannot be locked.
