Healthcare for the unhoused is a mess. Akido Labs believes it can be part of the solution. One October afternoon on a graffiti-strewn stretch of downtown Los Angeles, Dr. Steven Hochman was checking up on his patients. A street medicine specialist who has spent the last year working with Akido Labs, a tech-focused healthcare group, Hochman makes weekly visits to this makeshift neighborhood of plywood encampments and busted-up campers.

Colorado employers continued their autumn hiring spree, adding another 9,000 net payroll jobs last month on top of a revised 13,800 they added in September, according to a monthly update from the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment. Private sector jobs rose by 7,800 positions while governments added 1,200 jobs, bringing the total to 3.02 million payroll jobs in the state. Hiring last month was strongest in professional and business services at 2,800, leisure and hospitality at 2,500 and trade, transportation and utilities at 1,100.

New apartments and retail may be coming to RiNo. Denver-based Steele Properties submitted plans to the city last month calling for the development of a 60,000-square-foot, 40-unit income-restricted apartment building where Downing and Walnut Streets meet.
