By Parrish Alford Daily Journal OXFORD – The quarterback spotlight will belong to sophomore Shea Patterson when games count for real in September. Patterson did not disappoint on the second Saturday in April, but he shared the spotlight with junior college transfer Jordan Ta’amu. The defense was spotted 27 points to begin the exhibition, and Ta’amu’s 4-yard touchdown run off the left side with just over 4 minutes was the score the offense needed to win the Grove Bowl 31-29. Prior to kickoff Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze and his staff hosted a number of recruits for “junior day.” Patterson had a chance to put the offense ahead earlier in the fourth, but the possession ended on a turnover. With the offense backed up and trailing by five, Patterson hit sophomore wide receiver DK Metcalf on a slant.
