I Still Can't Believe Brookfield Infrastructure Partners LP Spent $15 Million on a Peruvian Water Utility

Earlier this year, Brookfield Infrastructure Partners (NYSE: BIP) revealed that it was about to close the acquisition of a water irrigation system in Peru for about $15 million. When I read about it in a press release, I couldn't believe that the company would highlight such a small deal. It was pocket change compared to its other investments, including a pending $1.3 billion deal to buy a stake in a natural gas transmission business in Brazil.
