The state's highest court rejected an appeal by Washington County prosecutors Thursday to restore a triple homicide conviction overturned when a lower court ruled the defendant's statement implicating himself in the killings was inadmissible. Slocum was sentenced to 88 years to life in prison for three counts of second-degree murder, arson, weapon possession, tampering with evidence and petit larceny. Slocum was returned to the Washington County Jail from state prison when the mid-level appeals court overturned his 2012 triple homicide convictions.
