Police and fire departments from several town agencies responded to an explosion that caused a house fire, the Northville Volunteer Fire Department confirms. The explosion, which is being investigated, occurred in a residential neighborhood at 6 Mare Lane, fire said. No one is believed to be seriously injured and the occupants of the house were evacuated. The residence sits on a dead end street off Hipp Road, near Schaghticoke Middle School. According to property records the two-story structure is a single-family colonial.
