Guilty plea in beat down burglary in Stamford

STAMFORD-One of two Harbor Point bar bouncers admitted Friday to forcing his way into a Glenbrook home and fracturing the eye sockets of the resident in hopes of stealing all his cash. Polizzi and Joseph Donofrio, 32, of Westchester County, were arrested on the night of Sept. 21, 2015 after the two Sign of the Whale bouncers appeared unexpectedly at the front door of an Alton Road home an hour before midnight. Polizzi’s attorney Richard Stannard said that after long negotiations the decision was made to reduce the charge from home invasion, which carries a mandatory minimum 10 years in jail to first-degree burglary, which has no mandatory minimum.
