STAMFORD — A city man arrested for firing a pistol after his friend was injured during a midday shooting on the West Side in mid-December, was unexpectedly convicted on another gun charge from two years earlier and will be spending at least two years in jail, court officials said. “He is a good kid and he comes from a loving home, as you can tell,” said his mother Cindy Pharr, gesturing toward a dozen friends and relatives gathered in the courtroom hallway, including Jackson’s pregnant girlfriend. Court officials were reminded last week that Jackson pleaded guilty in March to a felony charge of conspiracy to commit criminal possession of a revolver in connection with an arrest from 2015. At the arraignment Tuesday, Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Paul Ferencek argued with the new arrest, involving firing a pistol in a “high-density area,” Jackson should be immediately sentenced to the earlier felony charge to which he already pleaded guilty.
