STAMFORD — A cafeteria filled with men who are clients of a city homeless shelter were served dinner last week by Stamford’s Democratic delegation to promote awareness of hunger and homelessness leading up to Thanksgiving. Roosevelt Mitchell, 53, who has lived at the Pacific House homeless shelter for four years, has been the frequent recipient of meals provided by volunteers and charitable groups. The 2016 Report on Homeless in Connecticut, conducted by the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness, found 287 homeless people in Stamford and Greenwich, living in shelters, emergency housing and on the streets.
