Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks. Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian. SYDNEY BOYLE, COLUMBIA RIVER SWIMMING: The freshman won the District 4 title in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke and she was also on two winning relays. SAVANNA CRAIG, MOUNTAIN VIEW GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Craig placed fourth in the 3A girls state meet in 18:14. KAYLA FREDRICKS, WOODLAND VOLLEYBALL: Fredericks had 38 kills and 45 digs in three matches at the district tournament as the Beavers clinched a state berth. YACINE GUERMALI, CAMAS BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Guermali won the 4A individual state championship by seven seconds in a time of 15:12. AIMEE KURFURST, PRAIRIE GIRLS SOCCER: Kurfurst scored all three goals in the Falcons’ 3-0 win over Yelm that sent Prairie to state.
