Traffic stops result in $1.3 million in meth

Two traffic stops over the weekend by Texas Department of Public Safety resulted in the seizure of more than 15 pounds of methamphetamine and two arrests. On Monday, DPS valued the methamphetamine at approximately $1.35 million. The first arrest occurred on Friday just after 1:30 p.m. when a DPS trooper stopped a 2016 Dodge Journey traveling east on Interstate 40 for a traffic violation near Bushland. The troopers discovered a suitcase with three plastic-wrapped packages of methamphetamine inside, valued at approximately $365,000. read more
