A man was arrested Sunday morning after hitting an Amarillo Police Department officer while intoxicated, according to police reports. At 1:10 a.m. on Sunday morning APD officers were dispatched to the 4200 block of Mesa Circle to assist the Amarillo Fire Department and American Medical Response units on a medical call. Morgan Don Pitts, 21, was lying in the front yard of a neighboring home and was being belligerent with medical personnel attempting to help him, according to police. read more
