More than half a century after being taken apart, sent down the St. Johns River and put back together, a church on Norwood Avenue is undergoing big changes. In 1925, a small group of men and women started Norwood Baptist Church and held their services in a building on Crestwood Street before moving to Kenmore Street three years later, according to church records. The church then bought an Army chapel from Camp Blanding in 1948 and sent it down the river in sections to its new home at Norwood Avenue and Calvert Street. read more
