Slain singer’s New Jersey hometown plans vigil in her honor

EVESHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The southern New Jersey town where Christina Grimmie grew up will hold a candlelight vigil to honor the singer who was fatally shot after a weekend concert in Florida. Evesham Township Mayor Randy Brown says the vigil will be held at 8:45 p.m. Monday at the town’s Memorial Complex. The 22-year-old Grimmie was shot Friday night as she signed autographs after a show in Orlando. Authorities say she apparently had no personal connection to the man who shot her.
