Critical shareholders of Amylin Pharmaceuticals have ousted the San Diego company's longtime chairman and its lead independent director. The San Diego company said yesterday that a three-way proxy fight with activist investor Carl Icahn and Eastbourne Capital Management had left chairman Joseph Cook Jr. and director James Wilson without board seats.
