By Scott Wright Staff Writer swright@oklahoman.comPatrick McKaufman, Douglass Patrick McKaufman came into basketball season off the heels of his fourth year as Douglass' starting quarterback. He was banged up, and didn't know how effective he'd be — if he could play at all. But he played, and he was a star, averaging 20.6 points, 11.3 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots per game while leading the Trojans to their sixth Class 4A state championship in the last seven years. His future is on the football field at Northeastern Oklahoma A&M, but coaches have told him he might get to mix in a little basketball, too. Q: You guys came into this season as a contender, but not necessarily a favorite in Class 4A.
