Students and administrators at Armstrong State University hosted the third annual Paint the Town Maroon event Friday in Johnson Square. The downtown event celebrates what officials describe as the university’s long-standing connection to the Savannah community, major economic impact and significant contribution to the local workforce. Activities at the event showcased Armstrong’s legacy and impact throughout the community as well as its fundraising success. Highlights included a picnic lunch, a giant pirate ship float in Johnson Square and dyeing the fountains maroon.
