Texas educator named new Georgia Southern University president

A Texas educator has been named president of Georgia Southern University. Jaimie Hebert, the provost and vice president for academic affairs of Sam Houston State University, was hired Wednesday by the state Board of Regents. “Georgia Southern is a great university, and I am honored to have the opportunity to serve this institution, its faculty, staff and students; and the Statesboro community,” Hebert said in a news release.
