The board for the parent corporation of Memorial University Medical Center on Tuesday night unanimously approved a strategic partnership agreement with North Carolina-based Novant Health. The vote taken in open session followed a closed-door executive session and is the first step to completing what system officials said is a make-or-break deal to ensure the economic viability of the region’s largest healthcare provider. “We have now taken another step toward our goal,” said Board Chairman Harry Haslam Jr.
