Officials with the parent corporation of Memorial University Medical Center said Thursday they are nearing completion of what they see as a make-or-break deal on a strategic partnership with a North Carolina-based healthcare provider. “We’ve got every player focused,” said Harry Haslam Jr., chairman of Memorial Health’s 18-member board. “We are doing everything to make this happen because if it doesn’t happen, we have some hard choices to make.” The proposed partnership with Novant Health, a Winston-Salem, N.C.-based not-for-profit provider, would provide a capital commitment of $95 million during the first 10 years of the agreement.
