World War II soldier brought a touch of Staten Island to the German front

Army Sgt. Michael J. Shanley Sr., a native-born Staten Islander, brought a bit of his hometown to the German front-lines during World War II, by proudly driving a Jeep he named The Staten Island Ferry.
