Doctors: Jimmy Carter responding well to treatment

<p>Jimmy Carter is responding well to his cancer treatment, according to a statement from the former president's foundation released Tuesday.</p> <p>Doctors at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta have told Carter that &quot;recent tests have shown there is no evidence of new malignancy, and his original problem is responding well to treatment,&quot; the Carter Center said in a brief statement.</p> <p>Further tests on his condition will continue, the center added.</p> <p>The 91-year-old former president announced in August that he would seek treatment after doctors found that melanoma had spread to four spots on his brain.</p><p>&quot;We haven't cut back on my schedule yet,&quot; Carter told The Associated Press at a Habitat for Humanity build last week.
