<p>Jimmy Carter is responding well to his cancer treatment, according to a statement from the former president's foundation released Tuesday.</p> <p>Doctors at the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University in Atlanta have told Carter that "recent tests have shown there is no evidence of new malignancy, and his original problem is responding well to treatment," the Carter Center said in a brief statement.</p> <p>Further tests on his condition will continue, the center added.</p> <p>The 91-year-old former president announced in August that he would seek treatment after doctors found that melanoma had spread to four spots on his brain.</p><p>"We haven't cut back on my schedule yet," Carter told The Associated Press at a Habitat for Humanity build last week.
