Falk leads Washington State to 38-24 win over Arizona State

Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici said the offense also struggled in the second half, scoring only one touchdown. Washington State, which lost on a last-second missed field goal last week against No. 9 Stanford, managed to protect Falk from one of the best pass rushes in the Pac-12. Jamal Morrow, Keith Harrington and John Thompson each caught touchdown passes for Washington State. Arizona State scored on its opening drive, with Richard running into the end zone from the 6-yard line. Erik Powell kicked a 22-yard field goal to put the Cougars on the scoreboard. The Cougars got the ball back at the Arizona State 16 on a 38-yard punt return by Gabe Marks. Falk threw a 23-yard touchdown pass to Harrington on WSU's first drive of the second half, lifting the Cougars to their first lead at 17-14. After an ASU punt pinned them on the 1-yard line, Washington State drove 99 yards, with Falk throwing the final 12 to Morrow for a touchdown. The Cougars replied with a 75-yard touchdown pass from Falk to Williams on the first play of the ensuing possession for a 38-24 lead.
