Some Monument residents want to ensure that lawsuit settlement talks between a methadone provider and the Town of Monument avoid one thing: Allowing a methadone facility to open. Lawyers for the nonprofit No Methadone in Monument have filed a motion seeking to include themselves in the litigation, according to court documents obtained Friday. In doing so, the group aims to be included in any settlement talks - all with the goal of mandating that the facility not open, said Greg Coopman, a board member of No Methadone in Monument.
