Read the full article on AICN This Lithuanian-subtitled trailer for THE 5TH WAVE has Chloe Moretz and one or two handsome boys evading and fighting against a worldwide alien invasion that’s already enslaved and nearly wiped out humanity.   So, naturally, it feels kinda like THE HUNGER GAMES/DIVERGENT/THE MAZE RUNNER/THE HOST.   But Moretz, and a capable supporting cast which includes Liev Schreiber (playing the requisite military hardass), Maika Monroe (prepping for her more central alien-fighting role in INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE), Maria Bello, and Ron Livingston, give this enough class to give me some hope.   Moretz is quickly aging out of the kid roles that got her career going, and hopefully, this is a stepping stone to playing adults in films that don’t require her to breathe heavily while brandishing firearms.
