Office walls are decorated with giant photos of music venues and sporting events, with a main lobby showcasing an autographed 49ers helmet and Giants World Series rings. Guitars hang from a bright blue wall behind the reception desk, and other walls show quotes from satisfied customers: “If StubHub were a person, he would be my best man!” says one quote from a user named Dustin. The third floor break room has wooden floors striped like a basketball court. StubHub regularly raffles off tickets to send workers to live events, said Cameron Papp, communications manager at StubHub. StubHub’s three main floors have music, sports and international themes, with a Great American Music Hall conference room and Coliseum, Candlestick Park and Pebble Beach rooms. A row of windows gives visitors a glimpse into the “control room,” where staff members keep the site running. The design team “war room” is tucked into a corner on this floor and furnished with comfy chairs, bright throw pillows and quirky accent pieces. StubHub employees also like to celebrate sports outside the office. Since all Super Bowl tickets have to be hard tickets, not printed PDFs, fans who buy from StubHub must pick up their tickets at the game. StubHub throws a party for people who pick up those tickets, including food, drink, games and player appearances. “These parties require a lot of volunteers to work the event, so StubHub pays for employees’ travel expenses to come work the event and meet our customers,” Papp said in an e-mail.
