Judge: Mortgage company can't sue Beaumont woman

A Jefferson County judge this week dismissed a mortgage fraud case against a Beaumont woman, ruling that she was improperly identified and included in the lawsuit. Beverly Hines was misnamed as Beverly Rose in the 2013 lawsuit filed by 21st Mortgage against her, Wayne Rose and Robert Rose, according to the order signed Monday by 60th District Court Judge Gary Sanderson. "There is no such person as Beverly Rose," Sanderson wrote. Hines was staying in the Beaumont mobile home with her half-brother, Wayne Rose, when the Tennessee-based mortgage company filed the lawsuit on June 17, 2013.
