Brittany Irish said she feared for her life on the night of July 16. She had gone to first Bangor police, then state police two days earlier to tell them Anthony Lord raped her. She knew he was still out there and that he might try to find her. She said she told state police on three separate occasions that they should station an officer at her parents’ house in Benedicta fearing that Lord would go there. But the state police officer told her they didn’t have the resources to do that, she said. Hours later, in the early morning hours of July 17, Lord showed up at her parents’ house, armed. He first shot at Irish, she said, hitting her in the arm.
