Xcel Energy customers in Perryton are being asked to curb their electricity use through 7 p.m.. due to expected high demand. Xcel has been repairing equipment that was damaged by a spring storm at a local substation. Customers can help by turning off unneeded lights, computers and appliances; setting the thermostat to 78 degrees or higher, or 85 or higher when not at home; and waiting to use major appliances and equipment until after 7 p.m.
