Middle school science teacher Ashlie Smith, 37, of Rochester Hills, underwent astronaut training at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Ala. last month.The training was part of the Honeywell Educators at Space Academy (HESA) program in order to help inspire local students to pursue science, technology, engineering and math.
