April in Oklahoma starts with wind, storms possible later

It's no April Fool's joke that weather across the Sooner State today will range from red flag warnings this afternoon in the southwest to possible severe thunderstorms in the southeast tonight.Meteorologists with the National Weather Service predict that like yesterday, today will be breezy again. Temperatures, however, are generally expected to be about 10 to 15 degrees warmer. In the southwestern part of the state, the strong winds and dry are expected to lead to adverse wildfire containment issues, forecasters said.Tonight, a powerful storm system out of the Rockies should provide a chance of showers and thunderstorms, and parts of northwestern Oklahoma could even see some more snow mixing with the rain on the backsee more on NewsOK.com
