Two contract workers on a Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority project were hit by a car Wednesday, according to city spokeswoman Kim Melchor. The severity of the victims' injures is not known, police said. The workers were employed through Lawrence Construction Company, according to Melchor, and were working on a project at Austin Bluffs Parkway and Meadow Lane, where they were protected by appropriate barricades that the car drove through. - Stay with gazette.com for updates.
