The best part of being a scientist is (probably) getting to name things. And Stephanie Bush, who works for the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute, has the privilege of naming an octopus. Although octopuses have been portrayed as sea monsters for years, the relatively mysterious cephalopod Bush studies is tiny, gelatinous, and has large eyes that make it look more like a cartoon than a kraken: Bush is prepared to call it like it is — adorable.
