Century-old record falls along with heavy rain in Colorado Springs; some roads closed after deluge

As rain fell in Colorado Springs on Monday, so did a 101-year-old record. The Colorado Springs Airport got 3.16 inches of rain Monday, breaking the daily record for June 15 of 2.27 inches set in 1914, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo. Much of that precipitation - in fact, 3.09 inches of it - came between 6 p.m.
