Developer announces plans for Oklahoma City's historic First National Center

By Steve Lackmeyer Staff Writerslackmeyer@oklahoman.comA California developer with extensive experience redeveloping historic properties into hotels and housing told The Oklahoman on Wednesday that he is set to close by early August on a long-delayed purchase of Oklahoma City’s historic First National Center. The redevelopment, set to begin within a year, will be in excess of $140 million and will turn the property into a mix of upscale housing, retail, restaurants, offices and a four-star hotel. The buyer, Stephen Goodman, president of Goodman & Associates of Pleasanton, Calif., originally hoped to finish the $23 million purchase by late December, but the deal was delayed due to legal battles waged over the building’s ownership. Those questions were settled last week by U.S.
