A suspicious package at Estes Rocket factor in Penrose has prompted an evacuation and the closure of U.S. 50 in both directions in the area, according to a Fremont County Sheriff's Office Facebook post. A bomb squad and medical staff were dispatched to the scene just after 11 a.m. Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office said. Roads surrounding Estes are closed. The Sheriff's Office says Highway 50 is closed from Highway 115 to R Street.
