The seemingly never-ending rains that swept over Amarillo in recent weeks have turned the city green with lush foliage. But across town, weeds and grass are starting to take over, and property owners have to keep them at bay or face a potential fine. The city’s Municipal Code requires property owners to keep all grass and weeds shorter than 8 inches tall.
