Flood advisory lifted for northern Colorado Springs

The battered Pikes Peak region braced for more storms Saturday. Thunderstorms were expected over the region Saturday evening, with rain and lightning sticking around through Sunday. Forecasters with the National Weather Service say tropical moisture is to blame for the third straight day of thunder and lightning over the region. "Its a pretty wet atmosphere and they could be efficient rainers if they get going," forecaster Larry Walrod said of the weekend storms. The concern Saturday and Sunday was that rain could linger over the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest burn scars, with water flooding off the denuded land.
