Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan unveiled an $80,000 fund Thursday that will be used to support arts, education and other cultural programs in the city."This fund is made possible by donations from those who care about our city," Sheehan said at a news conference Thursday. "It will support the people and groups that enrich the lives of everyone here, whether through music, public art and dance exhibits, or by educating our children and building community through neighborhood events and parades."Sheehan said the fund's first grant will be a $23,000 award to the Joint Veterans Committee, which sponsors the Veterans Day and Memorial Day parades.
