Apartment fire causes $25,000 in damage

Arson investigators are looking into a Bakersfield apartment fire that caused an estimated $25,000 in damage Wednesday morning. Firefighters said they responded at 10:30 a.m. to the 2600 block of South Real Road, south of Wilson and east of Akers roads. Smoke was visible from a vacant upstairs apartment, and firefighters doused a blaze in the apartment's kitchen.
