Wildfires burn in Pike National Forest and near Durango

Associated PressJEFFERSON — The U.S. Forest Service says shooting sparked a 250-acre wildfire in the Pike National Forest. Park County Sheriff's Office spokesman Monte Gore told KUSA-TV (http://on9news.tv/1Esdf1T ) on Sunday that that no homes or livestock were threatened by the Snyder Creek II fire, which was burning three miles southeast of Kenosha Pass. Meanwhile, near Durango, residents of about 20 homes near a brush fire burning along the Animas River were asked to voluntarily evacuate on Sunday. The fire was estimated to be about 25 acres Sunday night but it remained active overnight.
