Tornado Touches Down in Northern Illinois

A large tornado swept through northern Illinois tonight, the National Weather Service reported. Police in Rochelle, Illinois, reported tornado damage in the city, according to ABC station WLS. Rochelle, in DeKalb County, is about 70 miles west of Chicago. Police didn't immediately report the extent of the damage in Rochelle, reported WLS. Strong storms were affecting the Midwest and Plains as they moved east Thursday night.
